Honouring Truth & Reconciliation Day with Every Order 🪶🧡
Valley Eats Team
September 30, 2024
On September 30, Canadians across the country will pause to recognize National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a day of reflection, learning, and action in honour of Survivors, their families, and the children who never returned home from residential schools.
At Valley Eats, we believe in supporting our communities in meaningful ways. This year, we are proud to announce a special initiative in support of the Orange Shirt Society, whose important work helps keep the conversation alive and ensures that "Every Child Matters" is never forgotten.
How It Works
On September 30, Valley Eats will donate 50 cents from every order placed through our platform directly to the Orange Shirt Society.
But that is not all—several of our incredible restaurant partners have stepped up to join us in this effort. For every order placed from one of the participating restaurants (found under the "Orange Shirt Day" section in-app), they will match our donation. That means together, we will contribute $1 per order to this important cause.
Why It Matters
The Orange Shirt Society was founded to raise awareness of the lasting impacts of residential schools and to support reconciliation efforts across Canada. Donations help fund educational programs, resources, and community initiatives that remind us that every child matters—not only on September 30, but every day.
By coming together—customers, local restaurants, and Valley Eats—we are turning everyday meals into an opportunity to support truth, healing, and change.
Join Us in Making an Impact
When you place your order on September 30, you are not just enjoying your favourite local food—you are also helping build a stronger, more compassionate future.
We encourage you to wear orange, learn, listen, and reflect. And if you order with Valley Eats, know that your meal carries a little extra meaning this Truth & Reconciliation Day.
Together, one order at a time, we can make a difference.
